Mission Statement:
We are a professional membership organisation formed to support Dog Walkers in the United Kingdom.
We are committed to helping our Guild Members provide excellent services to their clients and to promote the benefits that regular professional dog walks offer for our clients’ canine companions.
The Dog Walkers’ Guild is both a prescriptive and a supportive organisation recognising the importance of self regulation within our industry.
Our Guild Members have all pledged to abide by the Code of Conduct and adhere to the Philosophic Commitments upon which the Guild is founded.
The Dog Walkers’ Guild aims to protect the public from unscrupulous and unregulated dog walkers who do not meet the minimum standards expected by our professional body.
Our Guild Members expect to be represented at a local and national level. The Dog Walkers’ Guild is a keen lobbying force representing the wishes of our members. For example to defend against the challenges posed by Dog Control Orders (DCOs) where a restriction is placed on both dog owners and Professional Dog Walkers requiring them to walk less than six dogs.
The Guild campaigns to have the wishes of Professional Dog Walkers heard by local authorities and county councils when decisions are made which affect our businesses.
We actively support and encourage responsible dog ownership. We aim to educate the public with regard to best practice when choosing a dog walker.

Guild Structure
The organisation is a privately owned company although our focus is upon supporting our community rather than profit, and to this end we are guided by our Advisory Group Steering Committee, which comprises of both of active dog walkers and industry professionals and trainees as well as a number of dog owners.
Membership is only available to those actively engaging of offering services as a Professional Dog Walker.
We do offer a Supporter Membership for those people who care about the future of our Guild and wish to support Professional Dog Walking in the United Kingdom.
