Guild Structure

The Dog Walkers’ Guild is a privately held Company registered in England & Wales with Company Registration Number 10902407. We intend that in the future our company will become a social enterprise converting into a Community Interest Company in order to express our commitment to using our resources and assets for the public good.

Our professional membership organisation is currently organised into three tiers:

Membership Tier
Management Tier
Advisory Tier

These are summarised below, follow the specific links above to read more detailed information about each tier.

We have a number of Membership Levels:

Standard Membership:

  • Organisational Membership
  • Individual Membership

Standard Membership is only available to those actively engaging of offering services as a Professional Dog Walker.

We offer a Supporter Membership for those people who care about the future of our Guild and wish to support Professional Dog Walking in the United Kingdom.

  • Supporter Membership

It is our intention to offer the following membership levels in the future:

  • Standard Professional Individual Membership (already available)
  • Standard Professional Organisational Membership (already available)
  • Supporter Membership (already available)
  • Apprentice Membership (for trainee dog walkers who are not yet eligible for Standard Membership)
  • Retired Membership (for former Dog Walkers)
  • Lifetime Professional Membership (offered in exceptional circumstances)
  • Lifetime Supporter Membership (for supporters who have offered either a significant financial or other supportive contribution to the Guild)

As well as the Standard Membership of our organisation as listed above we also have the Management Tier:

  • Management Team (general administrative duties and oversight)
  • Accounting Team (financial and accounting duties – along with associated reporting)

The management tier are supported by the Advisory Tier:

  • Advisory Group Steering Committee (comprises of both active dog walkers and industry professionals and trainees as well as a number of dog owners)
